Meteorology displays comprehensive animated weather maps from the NOAA National Weather Service.

Weather is available for the entire USA, Guam, and Puerto Rico. View wide-area maps to see a general weather pattern overview, or choose to view close-in maps for cities to pinpoint precipitation activity.

Swipe to easily switch between maps.

Pinch or double-tap a map to zoom in and out. While zoomed in, touch and drag the map to pan it around.

Single-tap to show the status bar. The status bar is used for pausing animated maps and reversing the map animation direction. (Note that some maps are not animated and do not show animation controls.) Tap on the ā€œiā€ at the right of the status bar to bring up the list of maps. Use the list of maps to add new interesting maps, reorder map positions on the main screen, or to remove maps from display.

Pros and cons of Meteorology v2.2.2 app for iPhone and iPad

Meteorology v2.2.2 app good for

The maps load up quickly and are always current. Handy to see if that storm is going to hit you! Some info about the different layers would be helpful though.
I use the radar maps daily. Always up to date and correct as well.
Not sure what the previous reviewer meant by paying 99 cents for only three maps. Maybe he hadnt figured out how to add additional maps. Most current US Weather Service status maps are available. My only complaint is that some of the maps (i.e US radar) is difficult to update. There does not appear to be a manual update button. Otherwise, a very nice app which has nicer maps than most other weather apps
Excellent app!! Exactly what I was looking for! This app allows you to pick and choose cities around the country and it ties you into NOAA radar weather maps! The perfect app for those of us that want to see whats coming or how large the front thats sitting on you really is. This app does its job perfectly, no forecast, no temps, just a straight visual of the weather anywhere in the country!! Upon start up, the app may take a while loading the site chosen, give it a chance, once up and running you will get a great looping image! You cant beat this app, especially for the price!!!
This app allows access to National Weather Service radars in the continental US. You see the whole countrty in a radar loop and then you can break it down into regions. You can even get local radar from individual radar sites. You can zoom in on the radars with easy finger scrolling. This app just covers weather radar, but does an excellent job of it and its the best Ive found yet.

Some bad moments

This software is no good. Doesnt open all time when it does it crashes....stay away from it. If I could rate it less than 1 star I would.
Where are the maps? The only thing Im getting is radars. This is misleading Are you not done with it yet? Whats going on ?
The description "interesting maps from NOAA" sounded good. The only three maps youu have are radar from USA, S outhern Plains and Ausin TX. Dont call the app Meteology, call it misleading. Let s get the rest of NOAAS maps and we will have a good program here. Update: I found how to get all the radar maps. Still only radar, not the wide selection of other types of maps NOAA offers. Please change the name of the app to reference only its use of radars, as of now the name is mis-leading. The app icon is nice. This app has potential, I like the UI, the programmer of this app has potential to right a nice app, just learn to advertise correctly.
No maps other than national radar. The description is misleading and selling this app is wrong, if not fraudulent.
Name of app misleading. Provides only radar. You can do a lot better for free.
I paid $.99 for 3 maps! The apple should not allow publishers to misinform and mislead their customers. Guam and PR maps are not available
